Bring Back Little Chef 1958 - 2008

Bring Back

The Bring Back campaign is nothing without your thoughts and opinions. Leave your thoughts here on what you would like to Bring Back!

It could be anything from happy family holiday memories, fun in the school playground or your favourite kids shows, sweets or bands.

We’d also love to hear all about your fond memories of Little Chef, whether you stopped on a memorable family holiday to the coast, remember our fabulous lollipops and pancakes or maybe Little Chef is simply a big part of your life today? Tell us all about it!

Or, it may be you can’t remember who played Zammo in Grange Hill and it’s been bugging you for ages… This is the forum to post memories or simply ask the burning questions of the day – who shot JR? What were Snickers called before they were Snickers? Did you have a Space Hopper?

Oh, and it was Lee MacDonald. Zammo that is.

I remember when I was a child holidaying in Cornwall we always used to leave home (Basingstoke) in the very early hours of the morning and find a Little Chef about half way and enjoy our breakfast and lollies - which was the start of our holiday.

Bring back Spira's by Cadburys and proper push-up ice-creams, they were delicious on a hot summers day!! Little Chef's always remind me of going on holiday and stopping for a lovely breakfast on route, they always tasted so much better and then getting a lollipop on the way out - orange was the best!!! Please put more vegetarian meals on your menus, we're limited enough as it is!!

Bring back black forest gateux and chicken in a basket. Im too young t remember them the first time round but love them both! I also think Little Chef should restyle itself as a retro family diner. It'd be great to dine in a restaurant which looks like the "brong back" website. I also love the Little chef logo with chrome strips at the top of the website.

Bring Back! Absolutely. I spend a greta deal of my life travelling the roads of Britain in the course of my work and in my spare time. Little Chef has been an iconic brand and a source of good hot food during my travels and a great meeting place for friends and colleagues. These days however it seems quite difficult to find a Little Chef. Many have closed down and we travellers have been, in many cases relegated to the fast food emporia that have grown up to take their place - either that or a latte and a bun somewhere... I remember the placemats with famous Little Chef restaurants and when our children were small they revelled in having visited the restaurants they could see portrayed - including the Reading original. Bring the Little Chef into the 21st century and don't let it disappear into history but please keep the all-day-breakfast!

Childrens games like KerPlunk that were better made when I was a kid. Now you blow on them and they fall over. Also when you first open the box there is always something that needs pressing out of plastic that was already assembled when I was a kid.

Bring back Jam Roly-poly with Custard and introduce Quorn meals that are free from cheese. As a Vegetarian (due to having allergies to Pork, Beef, Fish, Poultry, Cheese and all fried foods), service stations restrict the types of meals I can have. Your Jam roly-poly was a welcome treat during, or towards the end of, a long car journey.

Bring back the Butterscotch Sundaes that Little Chef did in the early-mid 90s!

Bring back ABBA, they put life into people and their songs are still some of the best to dance to. I was in Canada when they started, had just bought my 4th muscle car which turned out to be junk, but ABBA kept me going and still do at 64.

We'd love your images, and we’d love you even more if you could send in any memorabilia you may have. We will of course return all items to you. E-mail us and tell us about any Little Chef items of interest that you may have.
