Customer Host
The job
It’s your role to turn tired motorists (and their passengers) into happy customers who are delighted they decided to stop at Little Chef.
You’ll take orders, prepare food and drinks and then serve everything up with a genuine smile. And because we take hygiene really seriously, you’ll also help make sure we’re spotless, from the tables to the kitchen.
Your skills, qualities and experience
If you’ve worked in customer service or retail before, you’ll fit right in. And don’t worry if not, we offer full training. But most of all we’re looking for your friendly, enthusiastic approach. Who knows – you might decide you like it so much here that you decide to take advantage of the many chances to develop your career. It’s up to you.

Restaurant Manager
The job
The buck (and the perfect burger) stops here. You’ll make sure the entire site runs perfectly, meeting our exacting standards for customer care and quality – as well as sales targets.
Above all, you’re a brilliant people manager. Spreadsheets, cost controls and forecasts are still important, but nothing’s bigger than the team. You’ll spot training and development needs before they become an issue, and make sure everything’s in place to get the most of your team’s potential.
Your skills, qualities and experience
Bags of personality, drive and self-motivation. We’re also looking for management experience in retail, catering or hospitality, along with a real track record of success.
You’ll need to bring evidence of your success – and a perfect combination of people and financial management skills. A truly broad commercial awareness – with the ability to really grow the business.

Assistant Manager
The Job
Day-to-day, you’ll make sure the site runs smoothly and stand in when the Restaurant Manager is not around.
It’s about getting the most out of the team (including training and development), making sure we all work to the same high standards of customer service. Then there’s controlling stock and wages, with a keen eye on sales and profit.
Your skills, qualities and experience
You’ll bring experience at a similar level from retail, catering or a hospitality role and a hands-on approach to getting the job done.

Lead Customer Host
The Job
Front of house is your oyster! And you’ll make sure our hospitality and customer care is absolutely top-class.
That means setting a brilliant example for the rest of the team – for example, with your brilliant Customer Service skills. You’ll also make sure we’re meeting the demands of legislation as well as Little Chef standards and procedures. On top of all this, you’ll work as Duty Manager across different shifts.
Your skills, qualities and experience
A brilliant communicator. Enthusiasm. Dedication to delivering great service. Bring all this and you won’t necessarily need catering experience to take this first step into management. However, it would be great if you have a basic food hygiene certificate and the ability to cook. If not, don’t worry – there’s plenty of development and training.

Cook
The job
Could you be the heartbeat of a Little Chef kitchen? You’ll be skilled at running a tight ship to ensure our customers enjoy great food prepared to high standards in a kitchen that’s sparkling clean and safe to work in.
Your skills, qualities and experience
As a fully trained cook, you’ll be a source of knowledge and wisdom to new employees, teaching them new skills and taking them under your wing as they learn the ropes. You’ll also have sound business skills which mean you know how to ensure minimum wastage, keep stock levels under control and have a keen eye for ways to help our management team maximise profits while maintaining high standards.
